Statement from the Police April 2019

Chief Superintendent Cotter who is the lead for policing in Leeds has stated “We are aware that recent press coverage of an incident that occurred on 11th March 2019 may have caused some concern within the school and wider community. I would like to reassure you that this incident occurred at 6am and was in no way linked to Hovingham Primary School. Officers attended and the incident was dealt with quickly and effectively. At no point was there any threat to the young people, parents or staff at the school. Leeds District Police have an excellent relationship with Hovingham Primary School both through our Safer Schools Programme and the Neighbourhood Policing Team. Through this strong partnership we will continue to work together to provide support to both the school and local community.”
