Letter from the Headteacher

9 September 2022

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful summer and enjoyed making memories with your children. The start of this academic year feels much different to last year and I am confident that we will have a great year, your child(ren) will thrive and make super progress.

This week we have seen very low attendance with the first day being 50%, I cannot emphasise the importance of your child being in school every day. You will see that we are working hard to improve attendance, as a school we have an attendance of 89% and we must all work together to reach 96%. we are in the same team - your child's team!

As a team, we are working incredibly hard to ensure we provide your children with best experiences we can, we are designing a curriculum which will help them make rapid progress, planning targeted interventions and investing in high quality resources so that your child knows and remembers more - all we ask is that they are in school on time and in school every day.

This year, you will notice a shift in the way we are communicating with you, each week you will receive a Principal's newsletter, which will share good news stories, our curriculum focuses, attendance information and ways you can support your child at home. In addition to this, there will be more staff sharing messages around parent events, homework, reading at home, and much more around support for parents.

Next week, you will receive a letter from your child's teacher sharing the curriculum topics and homework expectations, reading at home and much more about the exciting year ahead of them.
I look forward to welcoming you on the gate and sharing great news from our school.

Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Halliday
