Do you truly want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people?  Join Hovingham Primary, Leeds, to inspire our children to ‘aim high’. We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative individuals to join our Attendance Team.
We are set in the developing inner-city community of Harehills, we're lucky enough to serve the children that make Leeds a diverse metropolis of language and culture, with over 41 languages spoken, 759 NOR and a staff team of 100, we are not your ordinary school, which is why we are looking for the extraordinary.

Improving attendance is a school improvement priority and we are now looking for Attendance Caseworkers to join our team whose key focus is supporting and challenging families to make improvements in their child’s attendance.  You will be supported and led by an Attendance Leader and the team is held to account by the Vice Principal who is strategic lead for attendance at Hovingham.   

As an Attendance Caseworker, you will implement the attendance policy which will include knowing and understanding the data, getting to know families to understand barriers to attendance and engaging them to make incremental improvements, refer families for support and deploy procedures from the attendance policy continually gathering evidence which in turn may be used for legal intervention.  

Communication is key to this role as you will be meeting many people from parents, colleagues and other professionals so your written and verbal skills must be good.  Speaking another language such as Romanian or Urdu is a bonus too.  Possessing good ICT skills, you will be organised, have good attention to detail ensuring all contact with parents and actions are recorded accurately whilst remaining patient, persistent with high expectations.
